Done!

Today was a day for big finishes.

While looking for tatting supplies, I came across three Curds & Whey pieces that I had tatted. All they needed was to be blocked and put in bookmark sleeves. The pattern is from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konnor. Done!

I had two of these braided circle doodads left.

They are now ornaments. Done!

These flower shaped centers are what I was searching for. They were my favorite centers for my original doodads years ago.

My biggest accomplishment of the day was finishing the red, white, and blue tree. I spent about 5 hours today, and probably 15 hours total to complete this tree. It will be raffled off at the high school play, Bandstand, in mid-March. The raffle will benefit two groups, Adopt A Soldier and Project Headspace.

Daughter Carol, who is the drama club director, asked for a red, white, and blue tree for the raffle. Of course I was flattered to be asked! When I sent her this video clip today, she told me she loves it. There is no great compliment in my opinion.

The best news is that I have another project checked of my list. Done!

Keeping up

I'm happy to say that today I was able to keep up the pace I set for myself.

I tatted two doodad ornaments.

Most of my day was spent working on my red, white, and blue tree. While I'm pleased with my progress, I'm not sure I will meet my goal of finishing the tree this weekend. I ran out of blue pearl head pins, so I had to order some more. That's okay. Maybe I'll spend tomorrow working on my quilt!

Another pair

I tatted another pair of doodad ornaments today.

I'm not sure what I'll use them for yet, but I like the idea of having a box filled with them for future use.

Most of my crafting time today was spent working on the red, white, and blue tree for the Drama Club raffle in mid-March. Today my goal was to fill all three stars. I'm quite pleased that I finished as much as I did.

I have a four day weekend. Tomorrow is a half day for the kids, with teacher meetings in the afternoon. So, there will be no lunch, no one for me to supervise. Monday is Presidents' Day, so there is no school. I'm going to try very hard to finish this tree over the weekend.

Will there be tatting this weekend? Most definitely!

Productive day

Last night I crocheted five Chapstick holders while Dave and I watched t.v.

Today I was sorting through some of my craft supplies and found two bags of findings from when I was tatting with doodads. That was years ago! So, I think my goal for February will be to tat with findings that have been sitting in bags for way too long.

I also crocheted five more Chapstick holders today.

My big project of the day was finishing a stack of Hidden Wells quilt squares. Now I have to decide if I will sew the blocks directly to each other or frame them with solid strips. Right now I'm leaning toward framing them.

My last project of the day was to work some more on my red, white, and blue tree. There's not a whole lot more I can do until my patriotic pins arrive. For now, I'm happy to make a little progress each day!
