Testing, testing!

Yesterday was the last day of school for students, teachers' aides, bus drivers, and me. The teachers and administrators have to be there today. So, school's out for summer!

I spent some time organizing projects for the summer. I have quite a bit I'd like to accomplish, and if all goes as planned, I will be sewing while daughter Joanne and the kids are napping. I don't want to sequester myself in my sewing room while they're visiting.

I volunteered to test a new crocheted sock pattern, 25 Ways Crocheted Sock by Denis Hannigan. It's been a long time since I've crocheted socks, and I've long been intrigued by toe-up socks. For now, there is no picture, which I think is a good idea in this case. Since there is nothing to look at, I will know if the pattern makes sense or not. So far, so good! I'm using Red Heart Heart and Sole in Victorian. I didn't need any more sock yarn, but it was on sale, and I decided it was a good enough deal to give it a try. I like it!

  1. Yes, fabulous yarn. I’ve never crocheted a sock, mainly because I love knitting socks. Enjoy the summer break!

    1. It's been years since I've crocheted socks! I much prefer knitting them, but I felt like trying something new.

  2. How interesting. Never thought about crocheting socks as I assumed they’d work out too thick to fit inside a shoe.

    1. The fabric does seem thicker than knit socks. I'll let you know how they work out when I'm finished!

  3. They can always be used as slippers! I do like that yarn color.

Happy Vacation from school! I'm sure you'll have a creative summer! Your Tollway Tatters group is very active!
