Joanne and the kids went to visit my sister-in-law for a couple of days, and it is way too quiet around here!
The photos keep coming from daughter Carol's European trip.
I know these pictures are from Florence and Rome, but I don't know where they are. It sure will be fun to find out!
I sure wish I had the stamina to participate in a trip like this. One day they walked over 12 miles. I'm worn out just thinking about walking that far!
I finished another red, white, and blue Ice Drop for my cousin Nancy.
This is the group of five that I mailed off to her today. I'm very pleased with the way they turned out!
I started another coral dishcloth this morning. I've already put the first one to use, and I really like this yarn for dishcloths.
I also started another shawl. Now that Kara has one, Sophia needs to have one, too!

Really wonderful red, white & blue Ice Drops!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI told my friend about that yarn since she knits dishcloths all the time.
Love the design of that shawl!!!! :)
So far, I like the Scrubby Smoothie better than any other cotton for dishcloths. I'll let you know if I change my mind!
DeleteDrops are great and I know what you mean about walking that far I went and it was 17 years ago and it wore me out. I love those shawls too and looks like you going to make as many of them as ice drops😀
ReplyDeleteHaha! No, I won't get addicted to this shawl pattern. It's a pattern that gets boring very quickly.
Deletecomplimenti per il viaggio in Italia . Io abito a 200 km da Firenze ciao un abbraccio
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have been there! If my daughter and I ever make a trip to explore Italy, I will be sure to look for my Italian tatting friends!
DeleteWonderful photos from their trip. Florence and Rome! So exciting! But I know I wouldn't have the stamina, either.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy 'traveling' with Street View in Google Maps, and I'm so grateful to be able to sit in my living room and travel around the world! Of course, it's not quite like being there in person!
As usual, you have several projects going at once!
Street View in Google Maps is my preferred method of travel as well! I don't mind short road trips, but the type that Carol is on seems overwhelming!
DeleteI know the post-visit lull, not pleasant. Sounds as though they’ll be back soon? The ice drops are splendid! I like the shawls, my granddaughters might like them too.
ReplyDeleteThey'll be back her Thursday, but they'll be heading back to Minnesota soon. I do enjoy their company! The shawl is super simple to crochet, but I find myself getting bored. I guess I like a little more challenge!
DeleteThe first picture is Florence Cathedral. The second St. Peter's Cathedral, Vatican city. We were lucky to go onto the roof of the Cathedral. In the third one the dome of Florence Cathedral can just be seen in the distance. Your daughter is certainly making the most of her holiday in Europe.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info! I feel very lucky that we have technology that allows us to take and share pictures so quickly. I'm sure Carol will remember every place they've visited. She's very good at that sort of thing. I spent six weeks in a summer study program in Ireland way back in 1974. By the time we could afford to develop all the pictures, we forgot what many of them were.
DeleteThe ice drops are just in time for July 4th celebrations !
ReplyDeleteI could recognise St Peter's - it is quite iconic & had a great time in Rome.
Lovely shawl & your model displayed it to perfection in a previous post ;-D
Wow, that looks like a epic trip your daughter is taking! Your ice drops are exquisite, and your creative energy is inspiring!
