Spreading the Christmas Spirit

It took me a while, but I've finally decided which of the four Tatsy shuttles to keep for myself, and which three should be shared. This was a very difficult choice! Red is my mom's favorite color. Blue is my favorite color. The amber shuttle just plain looks cool!

Why Tatsy shuttles? I love them! They're perfect for winding a skein of HDT. If I'm working on a large piece, such as a doily, I don't have to join new thread as often, if at all. They're perfect for my beloved Spinning Wheel glass mat!

Yes, they can be cumbersome, and they do slow me down a lot! However, I am not, and have no desire to be, a speed tatter.

So, this holiday season I want to share my love of Tatsy shuttles with three lucky people. This will be another quick draw... tonight! So, if you're at all interested, please make sure you post a comment today!

  1. I would love to have one of those shuttles! I own only small Clover shuttles, so the bigger one would be handy!

  2. Me, me, me .....

Looking at the Tatsy, I know it will be slightly big to be used for my normal tatting. But, I just need one for my collection. And it being from the Librarian, now that is precious.

  3. I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough to work with a tatsy, but I'd give it a try.

    Thank you for the chance.

    Happy Friday!

  6. I use the Clover and Susan Bates shuttles (similar to the Clover) and have used the larger Tatsy when using larger threads. I do miss the point on them, but as you said they work when working on larger items - less joining of threads.

  7. I've got one very ancient Tatsy shuttle which I use when demonstrating tatting and for teaching them how to form the ds. These that you have customised are megga fantastic.

  11. I would love one of your decorated Tatsys! A Tatsy was the very fist shuttle I bought, when I began to learn, and, surprisingly, it always felt very comfortable in my hand. I don't tat fast either, I've always thought it was a good thing, to have one area of my life in which there is no pressure to hurry!

  13. ...never had tried a Tatsy... yet... I do like my Sew-Mates because it hold more than the Clovers.. so I can understand your feelings on the Tatsy!

  14. They are so pretty with the decorations on them. I wonder, does it make the sides smoother and make it easier to tat with them? I find that the thread sometimes runs into the markings on the side for me when I'm using mine. But I do like not having ends to worry about since I still haven't gotten good at hiding ends.

I would love to take part in this draw (if I am even eligible after all you've already done for me).

  16. Those are all so pretty! I only use my Tatsy with large cord as a teaching tool. I don't know that I could manipulate that monster and actually make anything. Good for you!
However DON'T enter me in your drawing because I just won something in your other drawing, and I don't want to appear greedy (even if I am).

  22. I agree with you on the Tatsy shuttles - I use them in teaching and/or demonstrating, because people can see them. I use size 3 or larger pearl cotton for this.

They totally rock for holding HDT! They're also great if you're working off a large ball of thread and want to take your tatting with you - -
