Tatted hanky edging... finished!
I finished Tiffany's hanky tonight, and I think it looks really pretty. This completes my second personal challenge piece: size 20 Flora, Grizzly Mountain Arts Tatsy-style shuttle, "Forget-me-not" from A Pattern Book of Tatting by Mary Konior. The hanky is from Handy Hands Tatting.
The receiving blanket in the background has crocheted edging that I've been working on for the last few months. I've found that crocheting is much harder on my wrist than tatting, so an edging that I normally would complete in a few evenings while watching t.v., has taken me much longer!

Oh, Diane, all your projects look so beautiful. The hanky is exquisite. What a lovely gift of handmade lace for a new bride. I hope you continue to take care of your wrist. You're so sweet to do all that needlework for those people in your life. How fortunate they are to know you.
ReplyDeleteThe hanky is really beautiful. Good think handkerchiefs aren't just for noses anymore! It must be the "rocking" your hand and wrist do for crochet that's getting to you. That's what I found hardest to recover after carpel tunnel surgery.
ReplyDeleteDiane, that is such exquisite work! That will be such a wonderful keepsake! It's so thrilling to see what our tools can create in the hands of an artist.
ReplyDeleteOh that is SOOO beautiful! Tiffany is going to love it....lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you getting all this "mojo" and can I have some?
OOOOOooooooooooo it's so pretty!!! I wish I was getting it! LOL
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the edgings. That's something I have not managed to do yet. I once started an edging on a handy (quite a few years back), and it is still uncompleted!
ReplyDeleteDiane, your hanky is absoluately beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDiane, the hanky is beautiful! I love the classic white on white. Mary Konior's Pattern Book of Tatting is one of my favorites. Congratulations on your determination to rehab your wrist!
ReplyDeleteThe hankie is wonderful. You did a very nice job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hanky! Reminds me that I need to get to work on the bridal hanky for my daughter-in-law to be!
ReplyDelete:-) Gina
That hanky is so beautiful. Very well done in deed.
ReplyDeleteOh, Diane, the hankie edging is so delicate. If it was mine I would never use it, bit I WOULD get it out and wave it around so that everyone could see it! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! Such a response! Thank you everyone! I appreciate all your compliments.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the news story a couple of weeks ago about how verbal compliments mean more to most people than a pay increase? I'd really like a pay increase, but I know what they were talking about... I get a warm, fuzzy feeling every time someone gives me a compliment or a word of encouragement. Sometimes I smile; sometimes I laugh out loud; sometimes I wonder why I didn't think of something on my own!
I am truly addicted to blog comments, and not just my own! This community of tatters is really special to me! Thank you all for your wonderful comments and compliments... they make me want to tat even more!
I love your hankie, too. It is so beautiful and the corners fits in so nicely.
ReplyDeleteYes, the community of tatters are a great bunch, where ever you are. I love you all.
