I'm off to a good start on round 13 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. For this round I chose size 20 Lizbeth #663 Bright Turquoise Dk.

I spent most of my time today sewing the front side of the binding on my diagonal blocks. It took all day, but I did finish all 24 blocks. Next up will be sewing the blue binding on the remaining 24 blocks. Then I will hand stitch the second side of the binding. I expect that to take at least a couple of weeks.

The weather was beautiful today. We sat in our new room with the sliding doors open and enjoyed the fresh air. All in all, it was a terrific day!

Round 12

I focused on completing round 12 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026 today, and I really like the way it looks. I used size 20 Lizbeth #658 Ocean Turquoise Lt.

My sister is visiting for the weekend, so I'm sure there will be plenty of crafting going on!

Streamlining

Now that I've decided how I'm going to finish my pot holder blocks, I've decided to streamline the process. First, I think I'll do all of the machine stitching of the binding. That way, I can sit and do the hand sewing while watching t.v. Once all of the blocks have binding attached, I will decide on the layout. I love the way the red binding looks around these blocks!

I really thought I had tatted more than two pattern repeats today. I did have to rewind both of my shuttles, so I guess that accounts for my tatting time.

I had what I hope is my final visit with the chiropractor today. He said that if I feel any back or leg pain in a week, I should come back. I'm going to do my best to avoid any further problems!

Half way

My hands were too cold to tat yesterday, but I did do some catching up today. I'm now half way through round 12 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026.

I also managed to bind two of my patriotic blocks. I'm not especially happy with the way the first one turned out, but the second turned out much better. Since I've decided to hand stitch the second side of the binding, it took me about an hour and a half to complete each block.

My plan is to bind all of the blocks before deciding on the final layout. I hope to get a bit faster as I continue with these. I am having fun!

Forgot to post

I did check my email last night, but I forgot to post my progress on Renulek's Spring Doily 2026.

I now have 8 pattern repeats finished, which I think is pretty good progress!

Not much progress

It's not surprising that I didn't make much progress on Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. After all, it is play weekend!

There was a wall of recognition for veterans and those currently serving in the military. Both sides of the panels have posters recognizing these men and women.

Information was provided for Adopt A Soldier and Project Headspace.

45 raffle items were donated by community members, raising almost $2,000 for Adopt A Soldier.

The kids were really committed to doing their best. They were reviewing dances right up until the doors opened before each of the performances.

From what my daughter told me, Bandstand received mixed reviews on Broadway in 2017. I thought the play was very thought provoking, and I know others felt the same way.

I wonder how they'll top this one?

After spending so many hours at the school this weekend, I guess I have an excuse for getting so little tatting done!

Quick post

I chose size 20 Lizbeth #658 Ocean Turquoise Lt for round 12 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026.

I finished the blocks for my patriotic lap quilt, 24 diagonal strip squares, and 24 straight strip squares.

I now have the 48 squares I need! Time to go... we're off to the play!

Round 11

I was feeling more myself today, so I quilted six more quilt blocks. I now have 42, with only 6 more to go for my lap quilt.

To keep from doing too much of one thing, I switched back and forth between quilting and tatting. By doing that, I was able to complete round 11 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026.

Tonight is the drama club's first performance of Bandstand. I'm really looking forward to it. Tomorrow, I hope to start round 12. I think I even know which color I will use!

3/4

I can't believe I'm 3/4 of the way finished with round 11. This was a fairly easy pattern repeat to memorize, which makes the tatting go so much more quickly.

This weekend is the high school drama club production of Bandstand. Dave and I will be attending all three performances, I hope!

Not too tired to tat

I followed my chiropractor's instructions and took a short walk this morning, only ten minutes. Boy, did that ten minutes wear me out. I really didn't have much energy left for anything.

I did, however, get a good start on round 11 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. For this round I am using size 20 Lizbeth #649 Baby Blue. I really like the way it looks next to the purple!

Round 10

My chiropractor told me to rest, so that's what I've been doing. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to take a short walk in the morning, and if I'm up to it, another short walk in the afternoon. I'm not supposed to go back to work until next week. I guess I'll be following doctor's orders!

The result of all this rest is that I've completed round 10 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. I have not been spending all of my time tatting. My hands wouldn't be able to handle that. However, I have been tatting more than I normally would in a day.

I tatted round 10 in size 20 Lizbeth # 647 Purple Iris Dk. I really like the way this is turning out!

Pressed and ready to go!

With Dave's help, I hobbled over to my pressing station and pressed Sue's table runner. I hope she likes what I've done with it!

After a trip to my chiropractor, I spent time working on Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. I really thought I had tatted much more than this. Maybe I dreamed that I was working on it while taking a nap today!

Sciatica

I finished the crocheted edging on Sue's table runner today. I still need to steam the lace edging. Once that's done, I'll give her a call to see if it's what she was hoping for.

I've been dealing with sciatica pain today, so I haven't felt like doing much. I did make a little progress on round 10 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day!

Lots of crochet

Today I spent a lot of time working on Sue's table runner. I really thought I could finish it today, but I have quite a way to go.

I did manage to quilt six more blocks today for a total of 36. I used quilt blocks as my break for all of the chores I needed to work through today. I only have 12 blocks to go!

Quilt day

Today was a busy day with lots of back and forth in the car. So, I didn't have time for much crafting. I did manage to finish another six quilt blocks for a total of 30. I should be able to have all 48 blocks within the next week!

Another sub day

I was asked to sub in the morning, which I was happy to do.

During that time, I was able to finish a dishcloth. I really dislike having leftover yarn, so mismatched dishcloths can be found in my stash. I kind of like the funky look!

This afternoon, I altered a costume for one of the girls in the play. Then, I went into school to help daughter Carol put together her Wall of Recognition for family military members from our community. There will be three of these two-sided displays. This particular one will actually be a little different. Carol has already changed the arrangement, but you can get the idea of what she is doing.

I made a little bit of progress on Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. Any progress is good progress!

The view from my window

This is the view from my window by my sewing machine. I love it! I really love it now, because Dave spent a good portion of the morning cleaning it up. Yes, there is a lot of pine straw there, but all of the construction materials from the work we had done last summer/fall is cleaned up and put away. I kind of like the look of the pine straw.

I finished six more blocks for my patriotic lap throw for a total of 24. I need 48 (I think), so I'm halfway there.

Round 9 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026 is finished.

I've only done one pattern repeat of round 10. This round will take a while, but I think it will be an enjoyable round to tat. I'm using size 20 Lizbeth #647 Purple Iris Dk.

Another doodad ornament has been added to my stash. I guess you could call this another successful craft day!

Unexpected

I really didn't expect to get much done today. This afternoon, Dave asked if I was going to be working on my quilt, meaning the one to go over the window. I really wasn't in the mood, but I decided get started anyway.

Now that I have the strips completed, I can connect the rows. After that, I will bind the outside edge of the quilt. I guess I'd better start looking for the shelf/quilt hanger that I'd like to have!

The unexpected part was what I completed of round 9 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. Mom had an eye procedure done this morning, and while I was waiting for her, I managed to nearly complete round 9.

Mom is doing great, and I achieved more than I expected!

Multi-crafting

I'm almost halfway through round 9 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. It's time to rewind my shuttles!

Six more quilt blocks were added to my stack today. I'm up to 18 with only 30 more to go.

The edging on Sue's runner is coming along nicely. I'm using size 20 Lizbeth #180 Honey Drizzle. This is about two hours worth of crocheting. This is going to take a while!

Another doodad ornament has been added to my stash.

I don't expect to get much done tomorrow. Our day is filled with running around, and I'm okay with that. I do know that I will spend the day thinking of the things I could be doing!

Sunday, fun day!

I woke up early again today, and I managed to get a good start on round 9 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. I'm back to using Lizbeth #640 Antique Violet Med. This is a simple round, so I think I'll get it done in a couple of days.

Six more quilt blocks are done for a total of 12. If my math is correct, I need 48 blocks to make a lap throw. That means I have 1/4 of my blocks quilted.

I still have quite a few doodads, so I'm going to continue tatting doodad ornaments with the goal of using up these particular findings by the end of March.

I've decided that for the month of March I'm going to concentrate on Renulek's Spring Doily 2026. I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to try and finish it by Easter.

Have you set any goals for yourself?
