Catching up

It has been quite a hectic, but fun, couple of weeks. Because of all the activity, I've had little time to tat, let alone blog!

On Tuesday I helped out with play practice. Wednesday I fell asleep in my chair. On Thursday our soup club went out to celebrate Edna's birthday. Friday I fell asleep in my chair. Saturday we attended the wedding of two former students, and Sunday we visited friends. Whew!

The good news is, I finished round 13 of my Jan Stawasz Masterpiece! It looks like it could use a little shot of steam here and there, so I think I'll take care of that before starting the next round.

Three beautiful new shuttles arrived from La Cossette this week! I have fun decorating shuttles, but mine never look as beautiful as these. I love them!

Fox the enabler did it to me again... I just had to order these books from Rosemarie Peel. Fox told me to, and I'm glad she did!

Play practice is on my schedule for tomorrow night, so I probably won't have the chance to get any tatting or blogging tomorrow. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the week pans out!

  1. Phew, I'm not surprised you're falling asleep! The JS is looking fantastic. It amazes me that it looks complete at so many stages. You could happily leave it as it is now.

  2. Ooh that doily is tempting! It looks so beautiful.

  3. Das Deckchen sieht so schön aus. Tolle Schiffchen, ich würde mich über solche auch sehr freuen!! Neue Bücher?! gibt es dazu einen Link??

    1. Cornelia, the books are only new to me! They're from 1998 and 2009. I purchased them directly from Rosemarie Peel:

  4. Your doily is already a show stopper!!!! :)

  5. The doily is wonderful and almost done. : )

Aren't the books a delight? I'm so glad you now have them. They are so helpful when you need a short break.

Now, what else can I tell you about? Hehehe ...

  6. Wow! This is awe inspiring. I tried to teach myself tatting years ago. Needless to say it is one craft I did not keep up with. Perhaps that is why I am in awe over your unfinished (really? there's more?) piece.

  7. The doily is looking great! With all that you are involved with I'm not surprised you don't have time for everything. Such pretty shuttles you have there! You will have fun tatting with them, I'm sure. I have "Tatting For Pleasure" but not the other one. I've only done one or two patterns out of the one, out of being busy not for lack of wanting to do more. Looking forward to seeing what you make.

  8. Gorgeous !!! I agree with Jane - one can actually stop at almost any round & the doily still looks complete .
I wanted to buy Tatting For Pleasure after Kristen reviewed it but amazon etc said it was out of stock & didn't know when it will be available ! :-(
    Lovely shuttles.

  9. The doily is looking beautiful, well done a master piece of tatting
Hope you enjoy the books, I don't have either of them but if I can get them I will.

Just like you, I love getting feedback!
