There's a nasty bug going around, and I caught it! It's been two full weeks, and I still have a lingering cough. If you start to feel sick, please tack extra precautions. I don't wish this one on anyone!
The pattern is very simple. I used size 20 Lizbeth thread. For the first round, all rings are 6-6-6-6, and chains are 6-6. Three rings are joined to each hole, and all rings are joined with the side picots. I joined the final chain with a lock join and proceeded to the second round.
For the second round, chain 6, lock join to picot from first round, make a self closing mock ring of 5 picots with one double stitch in between each picot. Close the self closing mock ring, chain 6, lock join to base of ring from first round. Tie off and hide ends.
I only have four finished so far. I'd better get tatting!

So cute, especially with those 'candy' buttons in the center. Brilliant idea.

Sorry you’ve been unwell. I do love your ornaments. How big are the candy buttons?
ReplyDeleteThey're 1" buttons. I remember checking, but I forgot to write it in the post!

ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring me to go searching for candy buttons so as to revive my own tatted ornament work. Yours are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteDo you tat well while sick? I find that I make loads more errors when I tat while ill.
So cute! I love them.
ReplyDeleteUsing those candy buttons makes them so festive, good choice! I am sorry to hear you still feel bad. So far the bugs have stayed away from us, but they can be pesky and persistent. You are so far ahead of me on making your Christmas ornaments! I need to get going!
