Tollway Tatters Zoom!

Thanks to sweet Sue in Michigan, Tollway Tatters were able to meet via Zoom today. We were quite the international group! In attendance were Sue from Michigan, Jenni from Australia, Ines from Germany, Bernice from Canada, Karen from Virginia, Marilee from Wisconsin, Sue Anna from Illinois, and me from Illinois.

While it is very sad that we have lost our gathering place, the Hinsdale Oasis, it's wonderful that we can gather with international friends!

While we were chatting, I finished the button ornament on the left. I also found the finished ornament on the right tucked into my tatting bag. It looks like I accomplished a lot today, even though all I really did was complete the last section of chain and then the hanger.

As I've been reorganizing and decluttering the sun room, I keep uncovering buried treasure! I found my baggie of Russian nesting doll bottle caps all ready for tatting. A new box of perle cotton was right next to my chair, and I saw a perfect match!

This afternoon I went out to do a little more reorganizing, and I came across some supplies for decorating more bottle caps. At first I was just going to put the supplies back in the box, but then I decided it would be better to go ahead and assemble them so they'd be ready for tatting. It looks like I'm in for some fun tatting!

Bottle caps

I'm on a roll with bottle caps!

I've been busy decorating them, getting them ready to be used in Ice Drops.

I think the backs are kind of bland looking, so I'm painting them with glitter nail polish.

I think I might have to share a few!

I really wanted to tat with Liz Metallic Raspberry Pink. I wasn't inspired by any of the bottle caps, but I did like the way it looked with this crackled glass disk!

I think the crackles shop up better in a hanging position. Luckily, I have some more of these disks. I may have to do one up in each color of Liz Metallic!

What's new, pussycat?

With the beginning of a new month, I decided it was time to get back in to the Ice Drop groove. My supply is seriously depleted, which is a good thing, but I want to make sure I have plenty on hand for the holidays. This is the basic Ice Drop pattern with five graduated picots in Lizbeth Spring Green, not your typical holiday colors, but I like it! The shuttle is from Grizzly Mountain Arts. Isn't the cat adorable?

My tatted hanky edging is coming along slowly but surely.

Ella's afghan is growing. I'll need to crochet faster if I'm going to finish four afghans in time for Christmas!

I spent time decorating bottle caps today. I have some ideas for these, so stay tuned. Who knows? I may come up with something worth trying!
