Cookie day

I need to get back to blogging at night. It's getting too hard to remember what I did yesterday! ;-)

I've started baking cookies for Christmas. I don't know what inspired me to get on a cookie kick. It's probably been ten years since I've baked cookies. I definitely out of practice. There are a lot of burnt edges and uneven thicknesses. Still, I'm determined to have cookies for Christmas!

I love the simplicity of this ornament! I don't remember where the ring came from, and I'm not sure I have any more. This one may have to stay in my collection!

I only managed one Dorset button yesterday, the one on the left. The one on the right is the one I posted about yesterday. That small size difference meant that I couldn't tat 10 rings around yesterday's button. My goal is to make another 13mm Dorset button today so that I can tat the 10 ring ornament, but I first have some household tasks that need attention!

I couldn't help myself!

I had to see what Lizbeth #169 Autumn Apple Pie would look like in the Dorset Crosswheel pattern. I remember tatting with this color when it first came out, and I was not impressed with it. However, I love it as a Dorset button!

Now I need to catch up with the tatting part of the ornaments!

Next round

I'm ready for my next round of Dorset button ornaments! These are all Dorset Crosswheel buttons in size 10 Lizbeth #181 Cranberry Bush. I love this color!

Mite

The Dorset Crosswheel and Mite are basically the same pattern, but the Mite is much smaller. At first I thought I had read the pattern incorrectly, but I hadn't. I do like the way it looks!

Improving

I started my day with another Dorset Crosswheel. I feel like I get a little better with each one I make!

I felt it needed a little embellishment, so I added a round of tatting.

I wasn't content until I had turned it into a December 8 button ornament. I love the way it looks!

After several false starts, I finally have a Lychett Basket button that I like. It's not perfect yet, but it is greatly improved!

It seemed appropriate that I end the day with a donut ornament.

Tomorrow is our Tollway Tatters Zoom meeting. I won't be able to attend for the full time since it's the last day of Joanne's visit. I am looking forward to meeting up with tatting friends, even if it is for just a little while!
