I have quite a few shuttles with small bits of thread left on them, so I decided to use the Leaf Braid pattern from Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns to empty some of the shuttles. I'm counting this as #4 of my 25 Motif Challenge. I'm not sure how much braid, insertion, etc. counts as a motif, so I'm just doing as I please! From left to right...
*Gourd tatting shuttle from Alexandra Beatty Designs (eBay), Altin Basak # 3004, size 50 *Jan Stawasz shuttle, Flora #66, size 20 *Grizzly Mountain Arts shuttle, Karen's Halo HDT from LadyShuttleMaker, size 20 silk *Grizzly Mountain Arts shuttle, Rainbow Sherbet HDT from LadyShuttleMaker, size 20 - notice the curve in the middle... a new design element also known as a mistake ; )
On the bottom, you can see that I've wound my two newest shuttles from Grizzly Mountain Arts with Weathered Stone HDT from Yarnplayer, size 20. I started my newest Spinning Wheel glass mat (from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior) last night. This is another one for my friend Shirlee. She loved her first one! It's so gratifying to give a beautiful piece of tatted lace to someone who truly appreciates it!
I'm a retired elementary computer teacher/librarian, mother to four, grandmother to seven. I love lace. I love books. I love to collect. Now that I'm retired, I know I'll never be bored because I have so many interests, as well as the goodies I need to indulge my whims!
