Yes-U-Can Doily Challenge - Tatting Progress Day 9

I think I have the final round figured out! It took me three tries, and I may find that my stitch counts don't work, but it looks pretty good right now!

Yes, I have been writing down the pattern as I go. I don't know how to save it as a PDF. If you're interested, send me an email, and I'll be happy to share what I have written down. Please keep in mind that while I read patterns regularly, I've found that writing patterns is a royal pain in the neck! I make no guarantees that you'll be able to follow my notes!

  2. I'd really like to give this doiley a try, but have been a little intimidated at the thought of figuring out the stitch counts...have had a copy of the yes-you-can can's picture up on my computer for the past week trying to get up the nerve to try it! I would love it if I could get your counts...I think then I could try it! Your's is beautiful :-)

  3. Again, you're working at warp speed!

You certainly seem to have figured out the 'pattern' of the last round, which seems tricky to me, but very clever of the designer.

It took me awhile to figure out where one would start it. I believe it's with the small ring attached to the 'five-petal' flowers and proceeds from there, with some interesting flows of the rings and chains. Of course, the knot counts have to be precise, and you seem to be on the right track! I'm very impressed!

  7. O M G! I am panicking now...well done you.
I hope by the time I get there I will have worked out how to do it. Yours looks great, and it is a fun challenge, because everyone may do it slightly differently.

  8. Beautiful work. Has anyone figured out the original designer of the piece that appeared on the tin? Keep tatting - Robert, in northern Iowa.

  9. Its looking good, I have not had time to start mine yet, if you can share your notes I would be pleased to have a look. Its the middle and it does not help having words over the centre so I am having diffculty seeing the centre.
I love the colour you are using.

  10. It's going to be so beautiful. Mine is coming along slowly, but then I've had a test every week for the last 5 or 6 weeks.
