In and out Internet

We had a terrific storm that lasted about three minutes last night. Short, but not so sweet. Apparently, our local radio station had its transmitter knocked out, so we aren't able to get any local news. Our tv is out, and our Internet has been spotty. I'll post when I can!

Babylace is crawling along.

I think I've only finished one more pattern repeat of Chain Reaction since the last time I posted about it.

Flowerpiece needs one more pattern repeat to finish the center.

I finished an Origami pouch with shuttles for myself. I LOVE this fabric, and I couldn't resist making a set to match Allison's!

Last, but not least, I have started another Spinning Wheel glass mat in Yarnplayer's Tourmaline. Why? Because I can! ; )

I've started using Word Verification again. I find it very annoying and sometimes hard to read, but I've gotten so much spam since I took it off! Plus, I've accidentally deleted a few comments that I was trying to publish. So, I'm choosing the lesser of the two evils. I hope you don't find the Word Verification too frustrating!

  1. I have been admiring your work with the sulky blend able threads. i found the website to order but just wanted to know what size to order. 12wt or 30wt? I am a beginner tatter so I was also wondering what size thread that would be as compared to say lizbeth?

  2. Did the storm at leeast cool things off a bit?

Your tatting is, as always, beautiful! Love your matched set of tatting bag and shuttles!

Word verification is a necessity today, unfortunately. I have it on mine, too. :-P

  3. I'd say the 12 wt thread is close to size 80 Lizbeth. The 30 wt thread is much finer. I was really intimidated by the finer threads until Georgia Seitz sent me a sample of Sulky 12 wt. I figured I had nothing to lose, and I was hooked! It is more difficult to fix mistakes, at least for me, but the resulting lace is so delicate, and the thread is relatively inexpensive, so I don't mind cutting out mistakes and fixing them.

  4. This pouch with matching shuttle is very nice.
    Viele Grüsse

  5. Very pretty bag and shuttles.

    and pretty tatting.

  6. I do try to make a game out of figuring out the word verification, but they sometimes make it imoossible to read, especially the numbers, (which are a new thing). It really is best to have it, though. It's too bad there are people out there determined to make as much mischief as possible.

As usual, you have ten things going at once! Love the bag with the matching shuttles! I know I don't have the patience to deal with size 80 thread, but I appreciate all your research!

  7. Thank you so much for the quick response to my questions. I don't think I'm quite ready for size 80 thread, so I guess I will try the pattern in some size 30 my late sister in law got for me. Maybe I will be brave enough to try size 80 in the near future, but I might go ahead & buy some of the gorgeous colors you have shown us. Again thank you for all your help

  8. Very wonderful tatting!!! :) Love all the colors!! And such a neat bag with matching shuttles!! :)

  9. Such talent - shuttles and a sewing machine too! Love the little origami bag!
    Fox : )

  10. Love the origami bag and matching shuttles! Who wouldn't?

  11. Our news here in the uk is full of your storms and heat wave plus the fires, I hope the storms have cooled it down for you, all we have is rain, parts of the north had a months rain in one hour and there are a lot of floods, it's been the wettest June on record. We have been lucky here but I will have webbed feet soon.

Your tatting is amazing and the matching bag and shuttles are lovely.

  12. Such pretty threads you're using! I hope your internet is more reliable soon. Ours has been very slow for the last few days, frustrating!

  13. In this busy Summer season I have gotten behind and reviewed your previous posts. I always love your tatting. Your granddaughter Eva is a very smart 10 year old and I am inspired by her wanting to learn to tat. I should have started then with my grandma. Happy and Safe Fourth of July...

  14. Espero que recuperes internet pronto y nos sigas enseñando tus maravillosas navetas y trabajos.Besos.

  15. Is the origami pouch your design? or a pattern on-line someplace?

i have a pattern for an ort container; however, would be too small for tatting.

just curious ... enjoy the day

Just like you, I love getting feedback!
