Saturday's Christmas in the Village was the most successful craft show I've ever had! I sold 3 Ice Drops, 8 scarves, and 8 Santa Keys. The best part of the day was that I saw people I hadn't seen in years. It was exhausting, but fun.
I did pay for all that fun. I spent Sunday in bed with a crashing headache. I'm convinced it's because of the weather. Dave thinks it's because I overdid it on Saturday.
I'm almost finished with the necklaces for the high school girls, although I'm sure I'll be asked to make more.
It's going faster now that I'm tatting the ones without beads. Also, I'm using the same pattern. I did have some inquiries about the necklaces at the craft show, so that's something to keep in mind for next year.
When we were up at daughter Alison's a week ago, I spied a doo-dad snowflake that I had tatted a few years back. I must have given all of mine away, because there aren't any on my tree. While getting ready for the craft show, I found my stash of doo-dads. Now I have the urge to tat some snowflakes!

Love the pretty colours of the snowflake. What does a Santa key consist of? If the weather was close and there was thunder near, then that could account for your headache. Hope you are feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteHi, Anne! A Santa key allows Santa to enter your home on Christmas Eve if you don't have a fireplace. It's magical and only works for Santa on Christmas Eve. Any key will do, but I found some pretty replicas of skeleton keys on Amazon, and that's what I used.
DeleteGlad you had a good craft show, mine was a flop.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowflake love the colours, ice drops have taken over from do-dads
I'm sorry yours was a flop, Margaret. I did have loads of stuff left over, but it's the most I've ever sold, so I was pretty happy. It's been quite a while since I've tatted with do-dads!
DeleteI like the Santa key thing idea or wording I am so going to use that :) and you are famous and I am sure it was exhausting :) I too am leaning for tatting the little doo dads too!
ReplyDeleteI found several poems to go along with Santa keys on the Internet. I'm hoping to figure out how you tat around keys to jazz up the ones I have left... all 60 of them!
DeleteGreat key necklaces and snowflake!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just had a sweet lady inform me(after her many years of being in craft shows) that I need to have something new every year to keep the interest up. I am thankful for the advice and it has me thinking. ;) I am so glad you did well!!! :)
I've always thought that I needed to have something new every year, but I'm not creative enough for that! The only thing new this year was the Santa keys.
DeletePleased to hear that you did well at the Craft Show, such a lot of work, no wonder you were exhausted.
ReplyDeleteThe set up for the craft show was pretty simple. The exhausting part was spending the day visiting with friends!
DeleteI love all your work, but that doo-dad snowflake is a stunner! By any chance, do you remember the pattern or where you found the pattern? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I've tatted doo-dad snowflakes. I had my daughter take a picture so that I could look for the pattern. I probably won't have time to search for it until after Christmas. It's coming up fast! When I start working on them again, I'll be sure to post information about the patterns!
DeleteGlad you had a good time at the craft fair! All that excitement and the work leading up to it could easily have brought on that headache! You're always so busy and productive it makes my head spin!
ReplyDeleteDid you crochet the scarves?
The key is new to me. I don't think I've seen it before. Cute idea!
That beautiful snowflake I believe is Kira's Star and it is enhanced by that beautiful thread (name?)and beads and the doo-dad No doubt goes back to 2012 when you got everyone hooked on doo-dads! Six years ago!
Hope you're feeling better!
Some of the scarves were knit, some crocheted, and some woven. It was fun answering questions about them!
DeleteI haven't had time to search for that particular doo-dad snowflake, so I don't remember what thread I used or the pattern name. Has it really been six years?
All lovely. Where on earth do you get the time woman!!!!!
