Slow progress

I didn't get very far today. I think I've been overdoing it with the tatting, the result being one very sore wrist. So, I'm calling it quits for today. The good news is, I've reached the halfway point on round 7!

  1. I'd definitely take a break from the tatting. So glad you saved that medallion round! Indeed it can be used somewhere!

I wish your daughter luck with her thesis!

  2. Oh wow, I had not checked your blog and others in a couple days and busy with life and barely was able to post. I could not believe what happened and so I looked at yours and counted and counted and then I went to mine and counted and counted and I had the same number so I did the same thing you did and I could had used bad language or want to though up, so looks like I will be cutting too. But I am going to mark my work before I start over with coil-less pins every where I am suppose to skip so I do not do this again. this is very sad and I didn't get far as you but on the up side I have seen some pretty things made with mistakes, glad you are not throwing it out. You know with hind sight on doilies this big they could have given us counts of pattern repeats just for checks.

  3. I beg to differ on that being slow progress. It's great progress I think. Take care of the wrist though.

  4. Sorry to hear about your wrist. Have you ever had "trigger thumb"? I think I developed this recently from tatting and other overuse. So I'm taking it easy for the time being. I ordered some exercise balls for my hands, a jar opener for food and medicine, and a hand brace. This video, I think, is helpful. https://youtu.be/LOpDVR4UGTs

  5. I hope your wrist recovers quickly. Some weaving is called for perhaps.

  6. Definitely a sign of doing too much tatting by developing a sore wrist, but well worth it the doily is looking magnificent.
