Berries and Chocolate!

I really like this Boysenberry Dk thread. My only problem is, I have a strong craving for boysenberry pie! This doodad snowflake took me two evenings to complete. I really like the way it turned out, but I have some ideas for making it just a little better. If my ideas work, I'll post the pattern. If not, I'll keep on trying!

For inquiring minds... the thread is size 20 Lizbeth, Boysenberry Dk #644. The doodad is from Hobby Lobby, and the hook is from

We celebrated December birthdays at school yesterday, and one of the second grade teachers brought in a Whitman's Sampler tin. I asked her where she found it so that I could purchase one. At the end of the day, Aimee put the tin on my checkout counter in the library, with a few chocolates left in it! Thank you, Aimee!

I'm already starting to fill it with snowflakes and ornaments for next year!

  1. Love that thread - makes a goegeous flake! I found the hooks - thanks - but haven't found the doodads! Where are they hiding at HobLob???

  2. That's a delicious looking thread--I love the name and the colour! A very nice doodad snowflake!

  3. Sharren, I've only seen them in our store one time. Guess I just got lucky!

  4. Wow! You have quite the collectible tin there, by artist Jane Wooster Scott!

God's Kid had the website for those HobLob doodads. Here it is:

I was lucky to find mine in the store, but at least you can order them online.

And another beautiful snowflake, to add to your amazing collection!

  5. Just coming by again to explain the 'long' url in my previous comment. I was using my tablet, and it doesn't always cooperate when I use the virtual keyboard.

Here is the url for the doodads:

  6. Wow, Diane, you have the designing bit between your teeth, well done! I look forward to trying this pattern too.

  7. I love the thread gorgeous colour, Your snowflake is lovely, and with the doodad in the middle makes it different,
That tin is beautiful and lovely picture, very useful to keep your tatting in.

  8. I don't know what stores have the Whitman tins; however, if you order on line, here is the link for Whitman Collection Tins

  9. Thank you for sharing where you get your hooks from, I have been wondering about them.

I like that color. Very Nice!

Just like you, I love getting feedback!
