Teeny Tiny Stumpy

My fascination with Sulky Blendables continues! Stumpy is only 1 1/2" long in this thread. I can see a couple of little loops where I didn't pay close attention to my double knots, but I can live with that. I really like tatting with this thread. Now I need to find where I stashed my King Tut so that I can compare the two!

Pattern: Stumpy by Kersti Anear
Thread: Sulky Blendables, 30 wt., color #4004
Finished size: 1 1/2" x 3/4"

I just looked at the picture closely... it's awful! I'll try to take a better one after school today.

  1. I think size 30 is a little thicker than King Tut; I have a spool of Sulky 12, and it's about the same as very fine quilting thread. Your Stumpies are beautiful!

  2. While I don't have that much experience with either, I think the King Tut is a bit easier to tat with. I find it to be smoother and slightly stronger. But the subtle color changes of the Sulky are so pretty!

  4. These are so very tiny and super cute. I don't see any flaws! :o)
Maybe blurry photos are best if we think we don't have perfection. LOL Happy week to you...

  5. I absolutely love this, I was testing out the cotton mercanized quilting thread but it really isn't working well, the coating on it, not only makes it strong, but makes it a bit stiff, and not as easy to manipulate as I was hoping for. I have a lot of sulky threads, but mostly rayon, which I don't think will be good for tatting. I am going to look at trying this, your tatting with this is very dainty and pretty. Your tatting is always inspirational! TY, Bree

  7. Oh it would be lovely to try some, perhaps we should do this on the thread exchange? Would you like to try anything I have? Would you like some of the vintage blue DMC?

  8. Ola! Diane
    Bjs no coração,
