Green Coral Sea

The last time I was in Hobby Lobby, I found a ball of Lizbeth Green Coral Sea #171. This is one of my favorite colors, so I purchased it to use at the Twin City Tatters retreat.

Before leaving the retreat, I started tatting "Monica" from Tatted Bookmarks ~ cross-shaped by Lene Bjorn. I love the patterns in this book!

With the thread left on the shuttles, I tatted an Ice Drop... of course! Mom requested six Ice Drops in light colors. I think I can do that!

In exchange, I received this beautiful mini loom from Hard Maple Looms. Gene Marino made this loom to Mom's specifications. Isn't it adorable? I plan on finishing the band I'm working on, then I will warp this little beauty and go to town!

  1. Lovely thread color and cross bookmark. Such a sweet loom and I will be following your warping it. You must be able to tat iin your sleep to always get so much done. <3

  2. Fabulous cross!!! :)
    Great Ice Drop!! :)
Question(from someone who knows nothing of weaving and looms), are the different looms for different type of projects? Just curious as to why have more than one, or so many different ones. ;)

    1. I guess the short answer is yes. However, my inkle looms, box looms, rigid heddle looms, and card looms are mainly for weaving bands. I really don't need all the looms I have, but I do have four granddaughters who have shown an interest in weaving, so I'm sure I'll be able to find good homes for them! Oh, and one granddaughter is not yet two, so there's hope for another weaver there!

    2. Cool, thanks for letting me know. I was beginning to think you were starting a new and much larger(size wise) collection.

  4. The variegation works beautifully both on the bookmark & the ice drop !

  5. I love your little looms. A friend of mine who was a weaver had huge great looms for making blankets and such things. They were rather off-putting. Your looms are much friendlier!

Your bookmark is lovely, it's ine of my favourite colours too.
Of course it made a beautiful ice drop, I am sure you can mark six in pale colours.

  7. Your retreat is paying dividends, though it could hardly be said that you were a slouch before the retreat! I like the combination of white gem and Green Coral Sea and your band is really splendid
