Hearts are hard

I don't know why I try, but I do. After tatting Robin Perfetti's Candy Heart yesterday, I decided to try my hand at a button heart. I wouldn't say it's awful, but it's certainly not pretty like Robin's! Part of me wants to try again, and part of me wants to just leave hearts to the experts. I think I'll leave them to the experts!

I think I do better going around in circles!

  1. Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I made an icedrop heart a while ago but it didn’t really work for me. I think your more substantial heart would be better. Turn it into an ice drop?

    1. I might try again. I think it looks more like Minnie Mouse than a heart. There's nothing wrong with Minnie Mouse, but it wasn't the look I was going for!

    1. Thanks, Carol. It's just not what I had envisioned. I guess it's back to the drawing board!

    1. I'm sure someone will love it. That someone just isn't me! ;-)

  4. Hearts are very difficult to design. What you don’t see when I make my posts is all of the trial and error, photo editing apps to help visualize where to go next, and learning/building from previous designs. Your heart is actually very good, especially if it is something you put together in one evening!

  5. I agree Hearts are Hard! I have a few favorite patterns I like and little courage to try other patterns. I will have to try this one though!

    1. I have several heart patterns that I enjoy tatting. There's really no reason for me to design another!

  6. I love that heart. Especially the way you did the arches.

    1. Thank you, Vicky! I may play with it so more because of all the encouragement I've received.
