Done!

Despite hours of shopping, playing with grandchildren, cooking meals, and just plain having fun, I managed to finish Labor no. 10 from Frivolite 1 Creaciones Artime. The finished size is 9 1/4".

I think it looks really nice, but I'm not sure I'm in love with Lizbeth Twirlz. The thread is nice to work with, but I can't see the stitch definition that I love looking at in tatting. I think I'm going to go back to colors I love working with before trying another color of Twirlz.

Now, which pattern should I try next?

  3. Very beautiful. Love the color. From the photo I cannot see the stitch count, and yes I also like to see the individual stitches.

  6. Gorgeous doily! You're right - there is less stitch definition with the Twirlz thread. I like seeing the stitches clearly - it's part of the beauty of tatting, I think. Still....it was worth experimenting with the new color(s). ;-)

  7. So far I am not a fan of the new threads but the your piece looks great. The only trouble with trying to tat inbetween other happenings in the home is that you can so easierly loose concentration and forget where you have got to, so well done are making it without a mistake.

  8. That's a very beautiful blue doily Diane. Lovely shape. I must admit I'm not convinced on the twirls thread and have yet to try one. But from your photo, the doily just looks plain blue to me.

  11. I like the doily, but I agree about the Twirlz thread, it is not my fav to work with. It seems softer not as crisp as the regular Lizbeth threads.
