This much more...

I've been tatting rings and chains in between working on invoices for Dave. It's amazing how much can be accomplished in bits and pieces!

I was up extra early this morning, so I was able to finish another pattern repeat on my shawl.

It's looking like another busy day tomorrow. All books are due in the library this week. I've been busy making sure the shelves are in order. Next week I'll print out a list of books that are still checked out. I'll double check the shelves to see if any were re-shelved without being checked in, and then I'll have to send out reminder notes with the hope of receiving all books before school is out. None of it is hard, it's just very time consuming, and it does leave me a bit brain weary by the end of the day. Thank goodness I have my tatting and knitting to help me unwind! How do you unwind?

  2. Hi Diane! I love the little glimpses of the beautiful things you're always working on! ... It seems like just yesterday it was the start of the school year, and now it's almost done...again! The kids must love coming to the library to see you. I remember the librarian at my elementary school. I loved her. She read us Stuart Little and Charlotte's Web. Her name was Miss Hunter and I can still remember the scent of the perfume she wore! It's amazing the impressions special people leave on our lives..,.even after all these years!
Have a fun day, Diane! xoxo

  5. Makes me tired just reading about all the work you do! Your tatting and the knitted shawl are looking wonderful, indeed.

  6. The shawl is looking lovely,
How do I relax, apart from tatting and knitting, I find my hay day game relaxing, funny I thought of you the other day I saw a farm with the name "fancy pants". And I thought of your students with their chains

  7. I got brain weary just reading about keeping track of all those books! Can't believe school is almost over again, but I'm so happy for you! And I must tell you that I almost fell over when I read the news about the twins! Had to read it - well, twice! A boy and a girl - how perfect is that? How exciting!

And you truly are blessed with an abundance of energy! I once was able to work on several things at once, but that's not the case anymore. The shawl is looking great, and you keep going on the doily! Two hours of tatting is a LOT! Wonderful shuttles, too. I do believe you have one of the world's largest collections!

  8. I realize I didn't answer your question: ' How do you unwind?' I have to admit that I'm on the computer a lot, certainly for reading all the blogs, and for information and research (such as genealogy) and all my other interests. Craft videos fascinate me and it astounds me that 'anyone' can actually make one. (I can't believe I have a blog, although I certainly don't keep it up as I should! ) I also use the computer to 'travel' around the world via the 'street view' feature of Google Maps. It's an exhilarating experience to actually 'drive around' any city in the world or 'climb up' to the top of a mountain. I feel as though I have been to Rome and Paris, and I never left my living room. Youngsters take computers for granted. I'm still in awe, having come from 'the old days' where this kind of thing was pure science fiction!

    1. Isn't technology fascinating, Kathy? Every once in a while I use Google Maps to revisit the neighborhoods where I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and Elmhurst, IL. It's fun to see those places and rekindle memories. I'm also interested in craft videos. They have helped me understand so much more than I was ever able to glean just from reading books. Remember Dick Tracy's watch? It's hard to believe that it's a reality!
