Just tatting

I did absolutely no housework today... I just sat and tatted!

I finished my Spinning Wheel glass mat in Coats & Clark's tatting-crochet thread, size 70, color #171. It's about 3 1/2" across.

There was plenty of thread left on the shuttle, so I tatted Renulek's Snowflake Rosie. I love this pattern, but I wish I had tatted it in white. I think it's much prettier in a solid color. The finished size is 3 1/4".

  1. They are both really pretty! Sometimes patterns do look better in solid colors, but I think that Renulek's pattern looks just fine here!

I'm amazed you tatted both of these without running out of thread!

  3. I think they're both very pretty. Some days you just have to say no to the housework and tat. I call them sanity days..... ;-)

  4. They're both pretty! The snowflake looks like it would work as a glass mat, too. I'm impressed with how dainty the tiny size 70 works up!

  6. Such a cute little glass mat! The color reminds me of bubble gum, or those red, white, and blue Popsicles I used to get from ice cream trucks as a kid.
